FERDA’s Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs focus on ensuring access to clean water, improved facilities, and promoting good hygiene practices; and distributing essential non-food items to communities in need (NFIs).
Our comprehensive WASH initiatives construct and rehabilitate water points, boreholes, and wells to provide sustainable access to safe drinking water in underserved communities.
FERDA implements community-led total sanitation approaches that mobilize residents to eliminate open defecation and build appropriate sanitation facilities. We conduct hygiene promotion campaigns through schools, community groups, and health centers, addressing critical practices like handwashing, safe water storage, and menstrual hygiene management. During emergencies, our teams distribute hygiene kits containing soap, water purification tablets, menstrual products, and other essential items to maintain dignity and prevent disease outbreaks.
